Imperial Prince Yoshiakira (代明親王)

Imperial Prince Yoshiakira (904 - May 12, 937) was a member of the Imperial family during the Heian period. He was Emperor Daigo's third Prince, and his mother was FUJIWARA no Senshi. His brothers were Imperial Prince Shigeakira, Imperial Princess Gashi and MINAMOTO no Takaakira. His official rank was sanbon (the third of Imperial Princes' ranks), Nakatsukasa-kyo (Minister of the Ministry of Central Affairs).

The Imperial Prince's Palace belonged to Imperial Prince Sadazumi who was called Imperial Prince Momozono, later on the Palace was passed to MINAMOTO no Yasumitsu (Momozono Chunagon (vice-councilor of state)), FUJIWARA no Morouji (Momozono Dainagon (chief councilor of state)), FUJIWARA no Chikanobu, FUJIWARA no Koretada, after that it became FUJIWARA no Yukinari's (the Imperial Prince Yoshiakira's great grandchild) Palace and he built a temple within the Palace. This temple is called Seson-ji Temple.

All the Princes of Imperial Prince Yoshiakira were given the surname of MINAMOTO and demoted from nobility to subject. In what it is called the Daigo-Genji clan (Minamoto clan), especially the originator of Momozono family, Prince Yasumitsu, and the originator of the Biwa family, Prince Nobumitsu became very successful.
